CLARE COUNTY PROSECUTING ATTORNEY: MICHELLE AMBROZAITIS

Christopher Carl Dietrich, of Muir, Michigan, plead guilty on June 29, 2021, to Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) 3rd offense and Operating While License Suspended (DWLS) 2nd/subsequent offense.  This conviction arose from an investigation conducted by the Michigan State Police on November 24, 2020.  The defendant had been drinking at a residence where he got into a fight.  He left that residence driving the vehicle with the vehicle door still open.  He rammed into the back of another vehicle before the police were able to stop his vehicle.  On August 9, 2021, Circuit Court Judge Mienk sentenced the defendant to serve a prison term of 14 months to 10 years on the OWI conviction and 1 year on the DWLS conviction.  Both sentences to be served concurrently.  He was given 260 days credit for time already served.  He was ordered to pay a total of $1958 in associated fines, costs, and fees. 

Anthony James Menne, of Lake, Michigan, plead guilty on June 29, 2021, to Operating While Intoxicated 3rd offense.  This conviction arose from an investigation conducted by the Clare County Sheriff’s Department on February 11, 2021.  The defendant had been drinking prior to operating the vehicle and wrecked his vehicle into a ditch.  His blood alcohol level was a .24, which was above the .08 legal limit.  On August 9, 2021, Circuit Court Judge Mienk sentenced the defendant to serve a prison term of 16 months to 10 years, with credit for 180 days already served.  He was also ordered to pay $733 in associated fines, costs, and fees.

Menne had also plead guilty to a probation violation in a 2019 case.  He was sentenced to time served in that matter, which had been 327 days to that point; unsuccessfully discharged from probation; and, no additional fines, costs, or fees were assessed.

 

Tylor Joseph Miller, of Lake, Michigan, plead guilty on July 7, 2021, to Police Officer – Flee and Elude 3rd Degree and Police Officer – Resisting/Obstructing.  These convictions arose from an investigation conducted by the Clare County Sheriff’s Department on December 16, 2020.  On this night, the defendant had been operating a truck with a bed full of wood and fled police when the deputy attempted a traffic stop.  On August 16, 2021, Circuit Court Judge Evans sentenced the defendant to serve a prison term of 14 months to 7 years 6 months for the Flee and Elude and 14 months to 3 years for the Resist and Obstruct a Police Officer, with credit for 244 days already served.  He was also ordered to pay $2036 in associated fines, costs, and fees.
